Patient Waiting

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Do I require an appointment? Appointments are necessary for Ultrasounds, Bone Mineral Density exams, and Nuclear Medicine exams. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete the registration process. Walk-ins are accepted for regular X-rays; however, the waiting time may vary depending on the time of day.

Q2. What documents do I require at registration? It is essential to have both your health card and requisition form signed by the referring physician.

Q3. Do I take my results to my doctor? No, we will send the results to the referring physician.

Q4. How long do results take? A written report will be sent to your physician within 24-48 hours of your examination, if not sooner. In case your physician requests the results more urgently, we can provide a same-day report via phone or fax.

Q5. Who interprets my imaging study? A Radiologist, a physician specialized in Diagnostic Radiology, will interpret your examination. Our team of Radiologists are all board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have completed additional subspecialty training in various fields of Radiology. Our Radiologists hold staff appointments at Mackenzie Health Hospital, Cortellucci and Southlake Regional Health Centre, where advanced imaging such as CT and MRI are also conducted. Our technologists are highly skilled in capturing images of the body, but they are not qualified to interpret the results, and therefore, are not authorized to provide any findings.

Q6. If I have undergone previous examinations at the hospital or any of our other clinics, will the Radiologist be able to access them? Absolutely. Our clinics are interconnected through PACS, enabling the Radiologist to access images from any of our sites. Furthermore, since our Radiologists have staff appointments at Mackenzie Health Hospital, Cortellucci, and Southlake Regional Health Centre, any prior studies conducted at these hospitals are also accessible. Please notify the check-in clerk if you have undergone any previous imaging.

Q7. How can I obtain a copy of my exams? You can obtain your images on Velox PACS at no cost by requesting your portal instructions at the reception. However, please note that reports are not available on this platform. If you are an Obstetrical ultrasound patient, you may take a picture of the screen with your cell phone free of charge.

Q8. Where are you located? What are your hours of operation? Please refer to our clinic locations and hours of operation.
